December 7, 2024

Steel Panther brought their Feel The Steel 15th Anniversary Tour to The Roxian Theater in Pittsburgh to warm up a cold December night.

The boys hit the stage with a raucous version of "Eyes of a Panther" which segued into  "It Won't Suck Itself."

This group is known for it's "hair metal" parody and songs that are fill with sexual innuendo and double entendres, however the musicianship of the band is outstanding.  As usual, the boys took a large amount of time telling funny stories about sex, drugs and rock and roll.

I don't mind the schtick, but I wish they would cut down on it a little and play perhaps two or three more songs in their set.

Since they are celebrating the 15th Anniversary of Feel The Steel, the band dedicated half of their setlist to that album.  Some of those songs included, "Asian Hooker," "Girl From Oklahoma" the rockin' "Death To All But Metal" and their power ballad, "Community Property."

The fans of course, ate it up.  Several audience members wore long hair wigs, bandanas and spandex to go along with the band.

Songs from other albums like "The Shocker" and "17 Girls In a Row" were sprinkled throughout the set.

The '80s throwback party came to a close with song "Gloryhole."

What a fun way to kick off the weekend.

Stone Horses, a straight ahead, in your face rock and roll band from Maryland opened up the show with a great set of original songs.
