When some people play the guitar, it just sounds different.  Every note is right and the sound is crisp and clear.  Warren Haynes is one of those people.  He can be playing the slide, using a pick, or plain finger picking, the sounds and emotions that he gets from his guitar is simply amazing.

Warren Haynes and his fantastic solo band played MGM's Center Stage on Thursday night to support his great new record, Million Voices Whisper.

Several tracks from that album as well as some Allman Brothers, Gov't Mule and a tasty Steely Dan cover song were played throughout his two sets.

Kicking off the show with "This Life as We Know It" the band was off and running.  Many songs featured extended jams where he let bassist Kevin Scott, saxophonist Greg Osby, keyboardist Matt Sclocumb and drummer Terrance Higgins stretch out and show their prowess on their respective instruments.

Haynes touched on his time with The Allman Brothers by playing "Soulshine" and "Instrumetnal Illnes" which closed out the first set.

After a brief intermission, the band returned to the stage to jam out on "Thorazine Shuffle" by Gov't Mule and a fifteen minute version of Steely Dan's "Pretzel Logic."

The show ended with his own song "Till The Sun Comes Shining Through."

It was a master class of musicianship and southern rock.
